BIGBANG's G-Dragon To Make Musical Comeback This Year, Eyeing Global Activities In Japan
After exiting YG Entertainment last year, G-Dragon is all set to mark his comeback later this year for future activities in Japan.

Months after parting ways with YG Entertainment, BigBang’s G-Dragon (Kwon Ji Yong) is now finally gearing up for his music comeback under the new agency Galaxy Corporation. In December last year, G-Dragon was confirmed to be a part of the Galaxy Corporation at a formal conference. During this while, the company while providing insight into his comeback assured that he will debut with a new track in 2024. Ever since, while fans have been eagerly waiting for an update in this regard, there is finally a piece of good news for all.

A representative from G-Dragon’s agency Galaxy Corporation recently confirmed that BigBang artist will make a comeback in the second half of the year, following which he is looking forward to carrying out global activities and events in Japan.

“The Japanese branch predates G-Dragon’s contract with us, but we’re committed to supporting his endeavors there,” the official said as quoted by Allkpop.

Further mentioning that Galaxy Corporation was established last year in September, way before the G-Dragon’s recruitment, the agency also explained that the branch will continue to support its activities in Japan in the future. “While details regarding Japanese concerts and fan meetings are yet to be finalized, they are part of our broader global strategy,” the representative added.

G-Dragon’s exit from YG Entertainment

It was in December last year when G-Dragon left YG Entertainment and signed an exclusive contract with Galaxy Corporation. Since then, he has been carrying out various activities including the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in January in Las Vegas. He also announced a collaboration with Yoshiki, the leader and drummer of Japan’s legendary rock band X Japan.

G-Dragon’s exit from YG Entertainment after 17 long years came after the drug controversy surrounding his name in October last year. He was reportedly booked on drug-related charges by the Incheon Metropolitan Police last year.

He also appeared in police questioning in the case. Finally, after his drug results came out negative, he was announced as officially “not guilty” as the cops wrapped up the case. Notably, the investigations came around the same time when late actor Lee Sun Kyun, best known for his role in Parasite was also investigated for allegedly using illegal drugs.

Since then, he has been maintaining a quiet life, however, the actor remains pretty active on social media. He is often seen engaging with his fans on Instagram.
