Youths body found, Kodala death toll rises to 5

BERHAMPUR: With recovery of a youth’s highly decomposed body from Jagata Nullah near Kodala town on Wednesday, the death roll in the recent violence has risen to five.D Prasad (22) was missing since the clash erupted between villagers of Sachina and another group belonging to Marathi Sahi area on the outskirts of Kodala town on July 13. Police suspect that Prasad was killed by the villagers after being kidnapped on July 13.On July 13, around 70 houses in Marathi Sahi area were damaged when an armed mob from J Sachina village set them ablaze following which a clash ensued between both the groups in which two persons were lynched. Two other persons died at Khajapalli, near Kodala, when police opened fire on the mob.
