Greater Noida: Sebastian Vettel's awe-inspiring excellence on the race track can be beaten only by perfection, feels his Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber even as the German's rivals claimed they had their strategies ready to challenge his dream run at the Indian Grand Prix here this Sunday.
Vettel, unbeaten at the Indian GP, has finished on top in nine races this season, and five of them have come in a row. Such is his supremacy that in Singapore he won by a huge 34-second margin.
While Webber might believe that it requires a "perfect everything" to outwit Vettel, Mercedes' Nico Rosberg insists he has the car to beat the fellow German.
Vettel's domination has irked many and it has been said that he was making F1 boring with his winning streak. And he seems the likely winner this Sunday too.
So, can he be beaten at all? Webber, who finished second behind Vettel in Japan despite starting on pole, said for that to happen, everything needs to click.
"He's on a phenomenal run obviously and as you said his stats here in the last few years have been pretty strong. It needs a perfect weekend -- pole, perfect race, perfect strategy, perfect everything to obviously put him off the top step, so that's got to be the plan," Webber, who would be bidding adieu to F1 at the end of the season, said.
Rosberg, who is challenging Webber for the fifth place in the drivers' championship and only the third driver this season to score two wins, was optimistic about ending Vettel's love affair with India.
"Well, I'm here to do that, that's for sure and the last couple of races have not really gone to plan, a lot of bad luck also. But, I have a very good car at the moment," Rosberg he said.
"I think the Red Bull is a bit quicker than us but you never know, you know. If we really get everything right on a weekend like here in India then it's possible to beat Mark and Sebastian in that car. That's what I'm here to do, so I'll give it everything and we'll see," said Rosberg, who won in Monaco and Silverstone.
Vettel was second in Monaco and retired from the British Grand Prix due to a gearbox problem.
Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen, who started the season with a bang by winning the Australian Grand Prix, said, "I think I have to do a bit better in qualifying."
"That would help a lot. That would give ourselves a good chance then to try to beat them. It's not just only them though, so we'll see what happens here," he added.
