VIJAYAWADA: The first World Telugu History Conference will be held for three days in London in the first week of July. The United Kingdom Telugu Association (UKTA) will organise the conference.UKTA will also organise Sankranti festival in British Parliament on January 11. British deputy prime minister Nick Clegg will participate in the celebrations.Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Satyaprasad Killi of UKTA said an eight-page bi-monthly tabloid in Telugu would also brought out by the association to mark the occasion. UKTA Radio, a Telugu radio channel, may also be launched during the event.Satyaprasad said chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy gave his consent to attend the World Telugu History Conference. AP Legislative Council chairman A Chakrapani, who was also present at the press conference, said the state government was taking all the steps to promote Telugu language.
