Women Officials in Daman & Diu Ordered to Tie Rakhi to Male Officials
All staff members have been asked to be present on Monday

New Delhi: In an interesting diktat, employees of government departments in Daman and Diu have been asked to observe Rakshabandhan, where lady officials will have to tie rakhi to their male counterparts on August 7.

Issued on the pretext of celebrating the festival, by deputy secretary (personnel) Gurpreet Singh, all staff members have been asked to be present on Monday. Not just this, all departments have been asked to furnish attendance details by 5pm next day.

One wonders what would happen to a couple, married or unmarried, working together in the same office.

Looks like someone in administration is taking the pledge of “all Indians are my brothers and sisters” quite literally.

However, as soon as the news of the circular reached journalists, officials withdrew the order.

What's your reaction?
