Woman cop attacked

BERHAMPUR: A woman police officer was attacked by an unidentified youth at Barakhama under Baliguda in Kandhamal district.On Tuesday evening, police officer in-charge of Barakhama outpost Mamata Pati was going to her house when she was intercepted by a youth with a revolver.  A tussle ensued between the two and the youth stabbed her with a knife after the revolver slipped from his hand. After injuring her critically, the youth fled.Receiving information, police officers reached the spot and admitted Mamata to Baliguda hospital. The police also seized the revolver from the spot and registered a case.No arrests have been made so far.
