MYSORE: Though Gadag witnessed a Singurlike agitation, the state government is in no mood to budge to the demand of farmers and will go ahead with land acquisition for the proposed Posco steel plant.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said that he would convince Gadag farmers to give up their land for the project. "I will discuss this issue with the Gadag district minister and deputy commissioner and will try to convince them to give away their lands and request them not to halt development works," Yeddyurappa said on Thursday. He was speaking at Mandakalli airport on his arrival to Mysore city from Shimoga.
