Dish TV has initiated a concept whereby it gives subscribers the option to view matches from camera angles of their choice.

New Delhi: Cricket fans can now turn into third umpires themselves.

Starting with the tri-nation series in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, Direct-to-home (DTH) provider Dish TV, in cooperation with Zee Sports, has initiated a novel concept whereby it gives subscribers the option to view the match from camera angles of their choice.

With the press of remote button, viewers of Dish TV can also chose the commentary from six languages and, in between the live match, can also watch highlights and statistics related to the match.

The new ‘Sports Active’ service was launched during the live telecast of the first DLF cup match between Australia and West Indies on Tuesday.

"This digital technology will transform the way cricket is viewed in the country. The viewers will now have the power to control live sports events on dish TV," Dish TV, head of business Jawahar Goel said.

The dish subscriber can watch the match through two different camera angles, which include the stump camera.

Commentary would be available in English, Hindi, Bangla, Gujarati and Malyalam and can be accessed with the click of a remote.

While the live match is on, the viewer, at any point, can watch the boundaries scored or the fall of wickets. The feature cam also show past records of the teams and its players.
