Around 250 people walked the stretch from Kanakakunnu Palace to Kowdiar Palace, holding banners and placards with the slogan ‘Dementia: Living Together’, the theme for World Alzheimer’s Month 2012. The messages carried called for ‘early detection’ and ‘understanding the debilitating disease’.The Alzheimer’s Day Walkathon was jointly organised ‘in memory of Alzheimer’s patients all over the world’ by the Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI), and the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE).
