Jungle Chetti is an isolated forested area near Kedarnath where 450 people took shelter to escape landslides and floods.

Dehradun: Several people were stranded for several days without any food or water in an isolated area of Jungle Chetti between Ram Bara and Gaurikund in Uttarakhand. The trapped people were finally rescued by the security personnel and taken to safe places.

Jungle Chetti is an isolated forested area near Kedarnath where 450 people took shelter to escape landslides and floods. But they were trapped in the area as they had no food or water. Many of the pilgrims died in the area.

When the army helicopters landed in Jungle Chetti, they were surrounded by the trapped people, many of whom were badly injured. The area is impossible to reach by foot as roads have been washed away. The scenes in Jungle Chetti shocked not only the security personnel but also Uttarakhand Agricultural Minister Harak Singh Rawat.

There were hundreds of people in Jungle Chetti waiting to be rescued. Several people had not eaten anything for several days and started crying when the soldiers came to rescue them.
