Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday transferred 13 IAS officers and appointed R N Upadhyaya, the former secretary (home) who was removed over a controversial statement, as the secretary (finance).
Divisional commissioner of Mirzapur Atul Kumar has been appointed as the new secretary (home), an official spokesperson said. Mahesh Kumar Gupta, who was also on the wait-list, has been posted as divisional commissioner of Kanpur.
Principal Secretary (secretariat administration) Arun Singhal has been shifted to rural development department in the same capacity. Principal Secretary (Panchayati Raj) Majid Ali has been transferred to institutional finance department, he said. Similarly, Secretary (finance) Arvind Narain Mishra has been shifted to secretariat administration department.
Principal secretary (sugar industries and cane development) Rahul Prasad Bhatnagar has been relieved from the post of cane commissioner and is replaced by Subhash Chandra. Secretary (revenue) Vinay Priya Dubey has been shifted to homeguard department.
Rama Shanker, who was on the wait-list, has been posted as special secretary (APC branch), while director (employment) SK Ojha has been posted as secretary, state information commission. Director (social welfare) Anil Kumar III has been shifted to employment department and he is replaced by special secretary (labour) Bhupendra S Chaudhary.
