Days after the infamous Pune Porsche crash that made national headlines, a 70-year-old man was run over by an SUV twice in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi. The bone-chilling incident occurred when the driver was attempting to reverse the vehicle on a narrow street.

The four-minute-long CCTV video, which is now viral on social media, shows a white Uttar Pradesh-registered Toyota Fortuner reversing in a narrow street when a man standing behind gets hit and falls under the SUV.

The driver, unaware that a man was under the car, reversed the vehicle for a few metres dragging him as the elderly man screamed in pain.

When people heard the cries, they ran toward the car and the driver moved his vehicle forward. The bleeding man was lying on the road and was dragged for a few feet when the driver moved it forward.

As several people approached the car, the driver got down and saw the man lying under the vehicle. The elderly person was then pulled out of the vehicle, which weighs over 2.5 tons.

The man suffered serious injuries in the incident and is currently undergoing treatment.

The police have registered a case of reckless driving, endangering the life of a person and causing grievous injuries under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code after the elderly man’s son filed a complaint.

This comes days after a 17-year-old inebriated boy knocked down two young IT professionals with his unregistered Porsche car in Pune, triggering a nationwide outrage.
