KOCHI: Electricity Minister Aryadan Mohammed has blamed the unscientific construction for the incident in which a lorry got stuck at the toll plaza in Kumbalam on NH-47.The Minister was reacting to the incident in which a lorry laden with a turbine for the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) from Pune got stuck at the plaza, resulting in the board having to pay `52,000 as damages. The booth where the lorry got stuck had to be dismantled so that the vehicle could move on.Meanwhile, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) project director C T Abraham said that the construction of the plaza was done according to the approved drawing.“There was no provision for land acquisition in the project. So we went for an edge-to-edge construction. The driver of the lorry could have checked whether the vehicle would enter the plaza. Instead he took the chance and met with the predicament. There is no use blaming the construction now,” he said.
