Taking a jibe at Priyanka Gandhi, BJP candidate from Amethi, Smriti Irani, on Monday said though she has brought her family to Amethi but would not "display them" on the dais.
"My family has come here with me but I do not display them on the dais like Priyanka," Irani said in reply to a question whether she has brought her family and would they take part in campaigning.
Earlier, addressing party workers, the TV actress said Congress always indulged in politics of caste and religion as it has "nothing to do" with development.
"Rahul Gandhi can never become prime minister of the country as Congressmen themselves do not have faith in him and that is why they have not declared him prime ministerial candidate," she said.
Irani claimed that several industries in Amethi have closed down and youth are jobless but Rahul Gandhi is not paying heed to it.
Rahul goes all over the country and talks about removing poverty yet cannot remove it in Amethi.
Stressing that Amethi wants a change, Irani said she is ready to serve the people and will work in the field of education, health in all the Assembly segments and voice of people will be heard.
