BANGALORE: Dejected over harassment, a 25-year-old woman who had tried to commit suicide by setting herself ablaze pouring kerosene succumbed to injuries on Thursday night.Reportedly, Vasudha, a resident of Vijapura, Bangalore rural district, had helped a few villagers get finance from her friends Lakshmamma and Subamma. The villagers however, turned out to be defaulters and the two financier women started harassing Vasudha asking for money. Unable to bear the harassment, she attempted suicide on June 8. She was shifted to the Victoria hospital for treatment where she succumbed to injuries.16-yr-old juvenile beaten by publicAt a incident reported in Akki Thimmanahalli, a thief was caught by public and thrashed when he entered a house on Friday evening.The 16-year-old juvenile offender was accompanied by an associate, Akbar, who managed to escape from the public. The duo are residents of Siddapura.According to the police, the boy along with Akbar came to a house that belongs to one Nasir and were trying to break open the door lock knowing that Nasir and his family members were out of station. However, neighbours noticed that thieves were trying to break open the lock and tried to catch the miscreants.Though Akbar managed to escape, the public caught the juvenile offender and tied him to an electric pole. He was beaten up before surending to the police.Police sent him to a hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in Ashoknagar police station in connection with the case.
