Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharati was on Saturday detained while she was on her way to Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh.
Bulandshahar (Uttar Pradesh): Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharati was on Saturday detained while she was on her way to Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh.
The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister was taken into preventive custody as soon as she reached Bulandshahar from Delhi, police said. She has been detained at the police lines guest house at Bulandshahar.
Uma had left for Aligarh after she reportedly received a call from a former MLA Krishna Kumar Nauman, who had recently joined her party after quitting BJP.
Nauman was arrested in the wake of the communal clashes in which seven people died over the past three days. Uma said Nauman had nothing to do with the riots despite which he had been arrested.
