UK offers help to Pakistan on sporting security
Cameron and Britain's national security adviser Kim Darroch held talks on Thursday in London with Gilani.

London: Prime Minister David Cameron says Britain will share the security lessons from the 2012 Olympics with Pakistan as the south Asian nation seeks to resume hosting international cricket matches.

Cameron and Britain's national security adviser Kim Darroch held talks on Thursday in London with Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

In a statement, Cameron's office said he pledged to share the "UK's experience in protecting large sporting events."

Pakistan has not hosted any major cricket-playing nation for matches since gunmen attacked the Sri Lankan cricket team bus in Lahore in 2009, killing six police officials and wounding several players.

Gilani was briefed during the talks on Britain's security preparations for the Summer Games.
