Jammu: Security forces killed two militants in a gunfight with a group of militants in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, police said.
The gun battle started when the Indian Army and the state police cordoned off the Behma forest, about 150 km north of Jammu, where suspected terrorists were hiding, a police spokesman said.
Two militants have been killed so far, the spokesman said.
According to him, intermittent firing is continuing between the two sides.
The gunfight occurred within hours of another fierce battle in Kalakote of Rajouri district which concluded Thursday, in which six terrorists were killed.
