Two held for attacking councillors houses

KOCHI: The police arrested two persons on Wednesday in connection with the stone-pelting at the residences of three councillors of Kochi Corporation the other day.Danny Jacob, 31, and V J Joseph, 35, were detained under Section 427 of the IPC and later released on bail, police said. Danny Jacob is Chullickal mandalam president of the Youth Congress, while Joseph is the block secretary of Kochi constituency, police said.The two-wheeler used by them was impounded by the police and would be produced before the court. The stone-pelting incident was first reported at Antony Kureethara’s residence at Fort Kochi, and later at Shyla Thadevouse and Shiji Roy houses.With the delay in arresting the miscreants, some councillors had announced protest plans.
