HYDERABAD: Telangana Telugu Desam Forum leaders, led by convener E Dayakar Rao, have warned chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of moving a privilege motion against him if the government does not lift the cases registered against Telangana students for violence committed during the movement.Speaking after meeting chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat here on Monday, the delegation, led by convener E dayakar Rao, said the chief minister had assured on the floor of the Assembly that the cases would be lifted. The delegation also urged the chief minister to honour the assurances given to Telangana employees for calling off the Sakala Janula Samme. The forum leaders appealed to the chief minister that the government should take up the Pranahita-Chevella irrigation project immediately. The TTDF sought an appointment to meet prime minister Manmohan Singh to demand national project status for the project. If the prime minister denies them the appointment, they will meet him during his visit to Hyderabad on February 4.MOTKUPALLI STAYS AWAY: Earlier, the forum met at NTR Bhavan to discuss the future course of action. It decided to plant a sapling near the foundation stone of Pranahita-Chevella on January 25.Senior leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu did not attend the meeting, lending credence to rumours that all is not well between him and Dayakar Rao.The forum convener, however, said that Narasimhulu had taken permission to meet the members of the family of a TDP activist who died recently in Nalgonda, and there was nothing to read much into Narasimhulu’s absence. But Narasimhulu joined the delegation which met the chief minister in the evening.Meanwhile, TDP general secretary Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy alleged at a press conference that AICC president Sonia Gandhi ordered removal of P Shankar Rao from the cabinet following a deal with YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. As for Jagan, he was no longer using harsh language against AICC leaders, he said.At another press conference, Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, MLA, wondered in what capacity AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad reviewed the performance of the chief minister. At the most, Azad could review the progress of works relating to his ministry as a central minister.“What is Azad to review the performance of chief minister?” he asked and suspected that his latest visit to Hyderabad was intended to find a marriage alliance for his daughter and collect money for the proposed marriage.
