Traders to rally against Food Security Bill

VELLORE: The Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangagalin Peramaippu will organise statewide rallies in all district headquarters on February 2, against the Food Security Bill, said A M Vikraraja, state president of the Peramaippu on Wednesday. He also opposed the proposed Water Bill terming it as an effort by the government to hand over water sources to foreign companies.He said that a consultative meet of traders and merchants from across the country would be held in Chennai on January 30, to discuss the fallout of these two issues. He hailed the TN chief minister’s gesture against FDI in the retail sector and the GST act in the State.
