The message of the police was that they did not have any faith in the judiciary and that they would be the prosecutors and also judges. “Since we suspect that this is a barbaric crime in which TN police has actively planned and executed, this communication may be treated as a public interest writ petition and the CBI be directed to take over investigation to uphold the personal liberties of the citizens enshrined in the Constitution,’’ they added.
