KOCHI: Former Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran has demanded that Tamil Nadu should reveal the names of the ministers who were bribed with money and land on the Mullaperiyar issue. He was addressing the gathering at Vandiperiyar where Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan observed fast on Wednesday. Premachandran said that the allegations raised by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa are baseless and aimed at diverting the attention from the real issue. He said the Tamil Nadu Government is not realising the seriousness of the issue. The issue can be easily resolved by holding talking between two states. If required, the Centre or court can be invited to be the mediators of the talks. He said that Tamil Nadu has taken a one-sided stand regarding the Mullaperiyar issue and never considered the safety of thousands living downstream of the Mullaperiyar. He added that Kerala will defend any move to deploy central security agencies on the dam premises.
