KOCHI: Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) has announced the opening of its ninth dealership Nippon Toyota in the state. The facility was inaugurated by Union Minister for Civil Aviation & Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi and TKM MD Hiroshi Nakagawa. Also present at the occasion were state Finance and Law Minister K M Mani and Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty. It will provide sales, service, spares, U- Trust and accessory facilities. Sale of pre-owned cars and accessories will also be done here. The facilities covers an area of 3,85,000 square feet with seven floors.Speaking on the occasion, Hiroshi Nakagawa said, “With TKM entering into a new segment, earlier with the Etios and now with the Etios Liva, we require a larger dealer network. We have expanded our dealership network from 97 in 2010 to 161 currently and will expand our dealer network to 175 by the end of this year. We aim to come closer to our customers and help them avail the best of Toyota’s ‘Q’ class service.”Toyota’s thrust will be in smaller towns. With increasing demand from semi-urban and rural areas, Toyota aims to bring its services closer to the customer. Toshiro Hidaka, executive VP, Toyota Motor Asia Pacific; Sandeep Singh, Deputy MD (Marketing), and Mohammad Babu Moopan, principal dealer, Nippon, represented the company.
