HYDERABAD: Cases have been registered against Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman M Kodandaram, senior BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya, TRS legislator K Taraka Rama Rao and several others for organising protests on rail tracks at Moula Ali, Ghatkesar and other places as part of the two-day Rail Roko.
According to the railway police officials, 40 cases have been registered against Telangana activists for obstructing rail traffic as part of their Sakalajanula Samme. A majority of cases registered by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), are pertaining to trespassing. The Government Railway Police (GRP) have registered two cases against T activists for damaging railway property."Thousands of people came onto the tracks as part of the TJAC Rail Roko. It is impossible to register cases against all of them. We have registered cases against the leaders who led the Rail Roko," an RPF official said.

"We will also identify those who caused nuisance on the rail tracks as part of the stir, with the help of video footage and arrest them," the official said.

Soon after the end of Rail Roko at Moula Ali, a protestor set afire to four seats of an abandoned coach. At Bibinagar, a protestor damaged the window of a goods train on Saturday, Kantha Rao said.
