Timeline: Chronology of Delhi blasts

Major bomb explosions in the Capital in the last 12 years.

• April 14, 2006: 14 people, including a woman and a girl, were injured in two explosions inside the Jama Masjid in the old quarters of Delhi after evening prayers on a Friday. Low-intensity crude bombs were used.
• Ocotber 29, 2005: Three bomb-blasts in busy markets of New Delhi a day before Diwali killed 62 people and injured hundreds.
• July 26, 2008: In Ahmedabad a series of 21 bomb blasts within a span of 70 minutes killed 56 people and over 200 people were injured.
• July 25, 2008: In Bangalore a series of 9 bombs exploded in which two people were killed and 20 injured.
• May 13, 2008: Eight serial blasts rock Jaipur in a span of 12 minutes leaving 65 dead and over 150 injured.
• October 2007: 2 killed in a blast inside Ajmer Sharif shrine during Ramadan, in Rajasthan.
• 25 August 2007: 30 dead, 60 hurt in serial blasts at Gokul Chat in Hyderabad.
• May 18, 2007: As many as 14 persons were killed and over 50 others injured in a bomb blast in the historic Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad.
• February 19, 2007: 68 people were killed and dozens more were injured after explosions triggered a major fire on the Samjhauta Express, the train connecting Delhi and Lahore
• September 8, 2006: 38 people were killed and over 100 injured in three nearly simultaneous blasts, including one in a mosque, in communally sensitive Malegaon town of Maharashtra.
• July 11, 2006: 7 bomb blasts occurred in a period of 11 minutes on Mumbai's Suburban Railway. A total of 209 people lost their lives and over 700 were injured in the attacks.
• March 7, 2006: 3 bombs ripped through the holy city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, killing at least 28 people and injuring 62 others in a crowded temple and a railway station.
• October 29, 2005: 50 people killed and 70 injured, including some foreigners, in three explosions in two busy markets and near a bus in Delhi.
• May 22, 2005: One person killed in serial blasts in two cinema halls in Delhi.
• December 30, 1997: Four commuters killed and about 30 injured in a bomb explosion in a bus near Punjabi Bagh.
• :November 30, 1997: Twin blasts in Red Fort area leaves three killed and 70 injured.
• October 26, 1997: Twin bomb blasts in Karol Bagh market leaves one dead and 34 injured.
• October 18, 1997: One killed, 23 hurt in twin bomb blasts in Rani Bagh market.
• October 10, 1997: One killed, 16 injured in three bomb blasts at Shantivan, Kauria Pul and Kingsway Camp areas.
• October 1, 1997: Thirty injured in two bomb explosions near a procession in the Sadar Bazar area.
• January 9, 1997: 50 injured in bomb blast opposite the Delhi Police Headquarters at ITO.
• May 23, 1996: At least 16 people killed in bomb blasts in Lajpat Nagar Central Market.
