For the very first time in India, the search for the first Karaoke World Champion has begun! This is the first ever Karaoke World Championship that India would be participating in.India will debut as one of the forty participating countries in the prestigious, international event McDowell’s No 1 Soda Karaoke World Championship (KWC) Indian Trials, in association with VH1, as the Indian chapter.KWC city trials were held in various Indian cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa, Kolkata and Ludhiana. Winners of City Trials have qualified for the zonal Finals which will be conducted across various cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai.The event will be judged by Gino Banks, Merlin D’Souza, Shefali Alwares, Rajeev Kumar and Gaurav Vaz. The three zonal finalists from each zone will comprise the twelve grand finalists to compete for the KWC Indian grand finale title, on August 6 in Mumbai. India’s first champion will meet singers from around the world who love karaoke and experience the trip of a lifetime during the exciting three day world finals in Ireland from September 8 - 10. Karaoke is a form of interactive entertainment or video game in which amateur singers sing along with recorded music (and/or a music video) using a microphone and public address system.The music is typically a well-known pop song minus the lead vocal. Lyrics are usually displayed on a video screen, along with a moving symbol or changing color and/or music video images, to guide the singer.The Bangalore zonals will take place on July 28 at Kyra, Indiranagar 9 pm onwards.
