PATHANAMTHITTA: Thousands of faithful participated in the annual Manjinikkara pilgrimage and the 80th commemoration perunnal of Patriarch Ignatius Elais II on Friday. A traditional reception was accorded to the participants of the pilgrimage on their arrival at Omallur Cross Junction at 4 p m.Geevarghese Mor Coorilos, Yuhanon Mor Milithios, Archbishop of Knanaya Church Kuriakose Mor Serverios, Kuriakose Mor Gregorios, Zacharias Mor Policarpus and Zacharias Mor Peelixinos were among those who received the participants of the pilgrimage.On their arrival at Manjinikkara Dayara, Dayara head Geevarghese Mor Devanasios, Geevarghese Mor Athanasios, representatives of Patriarch and Beirut Archbishop Mor Clemis Daniel Khuriya and Mor Peelexinos Mathiaz Naiyaz received the pilgrimage participants and led them to the dayara.The function, as part of the pilgrimage sangamam, was presided over by Catholicos and supreme head of Syrian Catholic Church Baselios Thomas I. Representative of the patriarch and Beirut Archbishop Mor Clemis Daniel Khuriya inaugurated the sangamam.The annual pilgrimage and perunnal will conclude on Saturday morning after a special mass under the leadership of Baselios Thomas I at 5.30 a m , led by Patriarch representative Mor Clemis Daniel Khuriya at 8 am.
