HYDERABAD: Though the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has decided to issue hall-tickets to those who did not get them till now following the High Court directive to enable them to write the advanced supplementary exams from Thursday, thousands of students have missed the physics exam held on Wednesday.BIE secretary M Subramanyam told Express that there was no proposal to conduct a re-exam to those who missed physics test. “We are issuing the hall-tickets following the High Court directive at 3.05 p.m,” he said.The BIE secretary asked the college managements to submit the details of the students manually at the BIE office and collect the hall-tickets. Several thousands of students who applied for the physics advanced supplementary exam on Wednesday could not write the exam in spite of their having paid the fee to the officials of their colleges before the due date.The problem surfaced on the eve of the examination as several college managements did not remit the fee collected from students to the BIE.The last date for fee payment to BIE was May 4.Thousands of students were left out in the cold when they did not receive their hall tickets.BIE officials maintained that they could not issue hall tickets without receiving the requisite exam fee from students. BIE officials said that the college managements were responsible for the goof-up.The students and their parents organised protests at the BIE office in the state capital and at regional offices in all the district headquarters on Wednesday.Speaking to Express, father of a student, S Vinay Kumar, said that his daughter had lost one precious year due to the negligent attitude of the college and adamant behaviour of government.Bhavani paid the exam fee in the college office on May 2.Though she was running around the college for hall ticket for the past four days, the management kept her waiting till Tuesday and finally told her that the BIE did not issue her hall ticket.
