ERODE: The Anti-land grabbing unit personnel in Erode arrested a theatre owner, G M Babu of Punjai Puliampatti, Bhavanisagar, in connection with a land grabbing case.It is stated that Valliammal, wife of late Kumarasamy, owned a 2.35-acre farm land and hard raised corn in it. On August 16, Babu trespassed her land and harvested the crop by stating that her husband had sold the land to him.Following this, she lodged a complaint with the cell and the police during inquiry found that he created a fake document to grab the land, worth about `4 crore.Hence, they arrested him and remanded to judicial custody, police said.Complaint Against SI  In another case, a farmer Palanisamy of Rangasamuthram, on Monday, submitted a petition to the anti-land grabbing unit stating that Gandhimathi, the SI attached to the Kavundapadi police station, her husband and DMK functionary Velusamy and DMDK functionary Chinnapalanisamy were threatening him to sell his  80 cent of land at Pudukalayanur.  Already the couple had bought 20 cent of the land out of his share and were threatening to part with the remaining land also. So, he sought necessary action against the four persons.
