THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shashi Tharoor MP has served a defamation notice on ‘The Sunday Indian’ magazine for allegedly publishing a false report against him. The online Malayalam edition of the ‘The Sunday Indian’ had published a report on November 3 hinting that Tharoor had stashed black money in the HSBC Bank, Geneva. The notice served on TSI editor-in-chief Arindam Chaudhari, editor A Sandeep and assistant editor Kavalam Sasikumar has demanded Rs 10 crore as compensation.Though the report didn’t mention Tharoor’s name, it was evident that the MP described in the report was Tharoor. Express had carried a story on November 9 that the issue had turned out to be a hot topic in social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. In that report, Tharoor’s aides had strongly refuted the allegations.
