BANGALORE: A software engineer committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Brindavan Layout in Arakere on Sunday. The deceased Sushma (28) was married to Kiran S Nayak, a native of Honnavar in Uttar Kannada district, three years ago.They were working as software engineers at a company near Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research on Bannerghatta Road.According to police, Sushma and Kiran were colleagues and they had fallen in love. Though Sushma’s parents had consented for their marriage, Kiran’s parents were against it. They lovers however got married and rented a house in Vijayanagar. But, the couple usually stayed at Sushma’s parents’ house in Brindavan Layout. Last week, the couple had gone to Kiran’s native place and returned on Sunday night.Later, she hanged herself from the ceiling fan with a veil and committed suicide.The reason for the murder is not ascertained yet, the police said. “There is no complaint against anybody by her parents. We are investigating what happened when the couple had gone to Honnavar,” the police added. Hulimavu police have registered a case of unnatural death and are further investigating the case.
