HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Legislature Party (TDLP) deputy leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu on Wednesday alleged that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government failed to manage the power utility effectively. Addressing a press a conference at the TDLP office, the TDP leader demanded that the government release a white paper on the present power crisis in the state.Naidu said people of the state were facing unprecedented power cuts even in December and the government failed to run the thermal and hydel power stations properly. According to the TDP leader, the APTransco is imposing power cut for four hours in Hyderabad, six hours in district headquarters and eight hours in mandal headquarters. The government itself announced two days holidays a week to industries. Consequently, the state was incurring a production loss of Rs 40,000 crore. The government ignored the supply of free power to the agricultural sector. Due to power crisis, weavers who fell into a debt trap, were resorting to suicide, he said.
