THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Prison at Poojapura here received a high profile prisoner as suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba operative Thadiyantavide Nazeer, was transferred here from the Viyur Central Prison on Friday. T Nazeer is the prime accused in the 2008 Bangalore bombings and the first accused in the case related to burning a bus of the Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation at Kalamassery in Ernakulam.He is also an accused in the chargesheet filed by National Investigation Agency (NIA) before the CBI Special Court in Kochi in connection with terrorist related activities in the state. According to sources, Nazeer along with two other accused, were brought to the Central Prison at around 5.30 p.m. He was transferred here owing to security issues. He was accommodated in the A-B blocks in the Central Prison where under trials are kept. Nazeer had filed a plea before Thrissur Magistrate Court stating that he received threats on life at Viyur Central Prison and his life was no longer safe there. Nazeer, who was arrested from Bangladesh in 2009 was earlier kept in Kannur Central Prison from where he was transferred to Viyur. Nazeer is also alleged to have recruited youths from the state to be trained in Pakistan for terrorist activities.
