BANGALORE: The Bannerghatta Biological Park management performed surgeries on two lions and one tiger belonging to the park's rescue centre to ensure their well being on Monday.
The surgeries were conducted by a team of experts and the animals are being being monitored closely along with adequate medication. The park, through a management initiative, conducted a health checkup for the rescued animals and discovered that some of them were suffering from severe ailments recently. A lioness named Jamuna, aged 19 years, suffering from suspected parenchymatous neoplastic cystitis of the mammary gland was exposed for surgery. The animal is under post operative care with a definite line of treatment in the intensive care unit.
