HASSAN: Union Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa on Monday said the Centre is committed to complete the pending railway projects across the state in a phased manner. He added priority would be given to works that have been stalled due to land acquisition problems. He was speaking to reporters in Arsikere before laying the foundation stone for the construction of the Adi Jambava Community Hall at Jenukal. He said the Railway Ministry is aware of the status of the pending projects and is working out strategies to complete them.The general manager of Mysore Railway Division has been directed to file a report on the status of pending projects, he said.About the proposed Shimoga-Arsikere-Hassan -Mysore passenger train, Muniyappa said he would talk to the railway inspection officials and take steps to run them at the earliest.On AICC president Sonia Gandhi’s recent visit to Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur, he said there was no need to attach too much importance to it. Muniyappa said the Central study team will visit the state to study the ground realities. Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and the Union ministers representing the state will coordinate with the team, he added. He also urged the Adi Jambava community to unite and hold religious functions.
