The state has been adjudged second-best in power sector operations during the year 2012. The awards were instituted by the Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI), the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) said in a statement.
Kerala shared the second position with Delhi. Gujarat stood first in the rankings. KSEB Member (Transmission and Generation Operation) Mohammedali Rawther received the award from IPPAI director Hari Dhaul at a function held in Delhi.
The winners were selected by a panel headed by former Central Electricity RegulatoryCommission chairman S L Rao.
