Mumbai: The CBI on Friday filed a third supplementary charge sheet in the sensational Sheena Bora murder case, which says former media baron Peter Mukerjea knew about his wife Indrani’s plan to murder Sheena, her daughter from a previous relationship.
In the charge sheet, the probe agency has alleged that contrary to his claims, Peter knew about the plot and was even kept in the loop during the disposal of the body. It also mentions Sheena's brother Mikhail Bora as a witness in the case. Mikhail wasn't mentioned in the earlier charge sheets.
The argument on framing of charges will begin Saturday.
Sheena (24) was strangled in a car here in April 2012 allegedly by Indrani Mukerjea, Indrani's former husband Sanjeev Khanna and her former driver Shyamvar Rai.
The body of Sheena, who Indrani had tried to pass off as her sister, was then dumped in a forest in neighbouring Raigad district.
The three were arrested in August last year after Rai spilled the beans while he was being interrogated in a case pertaining to illegal possession of arms. Rai later turned approver in the case.
In its charge sheet filed in November last year, the CBI had named Indrani, Khanna and Rai as accused in the case. Peter was arrested in November last year and a charge sheet was filed against him on February 16 this year.
According to investigators, Indrani was worried that Sheena would gain a major share of property after marrying Peter Mukerjea’s son Rahul with whom she was in a relationship.
