KOCHI: Transport Commissioner T P Senkumar on Thursday approached the Kerala High Court to expunge the adverse remarks made against him by the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court (CJM) in the LIS Deepasthambham fraud case. The CJM had termed Senkumar’s intervention in the case as “dubious”. The court made the observation while dismissing a petition filed by the Kochi City Police Commissioner seeking permission for further investigation in the LIS financial fraud case. The CJM had observed that Senkumar and his aides were exploring the possibilities to scare the court. CJM B Vijayan had said Senkumar, who is the Transport Commissioner, was unnecessarily intervening in the investigation. The petitioner’s counsel, advocate K R Radhakrishnan Nair, submitted that the magistrate made the adverse remarks without affording an opportunity to Senkumar of being heard. “Keeping the adverse remarks in the records will cause severe hardship and irreparable injury to the petitioner and his official career,” he said.Justice N K Balakrishnan adjourned the hearing of the case to November 7. The court had earlier stayed the trial proceedings in the LIS Deepasthambham fraud case, before the Ernakulam Additional chief Judicial Magistrate court, on an appeal filed by state government seeking a directive to set aside the Magistrate Court order.
