ANANTAPUR: Sathya Sai Central Trust member RJ Ratnakar is said to have revealed to the police on Saturday that the money seized by the police at Kodikonda checkpost at Hindupur on June 18 belonged to Sai Baba's devotees from Tamil Nadu.According to sources, Ratnakar explained to the police that the money was donated by the Tamil Nadu devotees for construction of Baba's 'Maha Samadhi' and the same cash was caught by the police while it was being taken to Bangalore to purchase the materials needed.When police asked why he had remained silent on the cash seizure till now, he said, "As there was no secrecy in shifting the cash, I thought there was no necessity to respond to the incident. I believed the law will take its own course."Police are said to have posed 50 questions to Ratnakar about the seizure of cash and the latter reportedly skipped majority of them. He also took the suggestions of legal experts before the police quizzed him.Another trust member Srinivasan will face police enquiry on Monday.When Harishnanda Shetty and Sohan Shetty, who were arrested by the police along with the cash, revealed that the money belonged to both Ratnakar and Srinivasan, police issued notices to the duo to attend the enquiry.As Srinivasan was not in Puttaparthi, police sent him notice through post. Srinivasan informed them that he would attend the enquiry on Monday.Meanwhile, speaking to media persons on Sunday, district SP Shanawaz Quasim said that the cash seizure case had reached a crucial stage. Saying that they have not interrogated Sohan Shetty's friend Sadasivan as he was absconding and police have sent a special team to Bangalore to take him into custody, the SP said.
