BANGALORE: All arrangements have been made for a smooth byelection at the Banashankari Temple Ward (No 180) today. The byelection has been necessitated following the murder of JD (S) corporator Diwan Ali.
Speaking about the security arrangements, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Sonia Narang said, "All is set for the byelection. The entire area has been divided into eight sectors. We have considered consider all 34 poling booths as sensitive and there will be eight ACPs, 20 Inspectors, 55 PSIs, 20 ASIs, 350 head constables, constables and women police on duty. Every sector will be under an ACP level police official."

Prohibitory orders

The orders will be in effect from 5 pm on Saturday till midnight of Sunday and from 6 am of June 29 (The day of counting votes) to 6 am on June 30.
