BANGALORE: A security guard, who tried to stop a gang of miscreants from stealing from a construction site, was murdered on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Gangaram Chatri (40), a native of Assam. The miscreants allegedly killed him by hitting him on his head with a weapon.Gangaram Chatri had joined as a security guard just ten days ago at Mahaveer Riviera Apartment which is under construction at Vinayaka Nagar near Puttenahalli in J P Nagar Fifth Stage.

According to the police, Gangaram was on night duty on Saturday and on early Sunday morning when some miscreants entered the premises to steal cement and steel that were stored in the construction site.

The miscreants did not take away anything from the site, said the J P Nagar police, who have registered a murder case and are investigating.
