The State Bank of India (SBI) has five Associate Banks, all use the same logo of a blue circle and all the associates use the "State Bank of" name, followed by the regional headquarters’ name:

SBI Associate Banks conduct a combined written examination (which is separate from the exam conducted by SBI for its own recruitments) for the selection of Officers and Clerks for Associates every year.
SBI Associates PO Exam
Eligibility criteria
Nationality: Indian
Age: Minimum: 21 Years; Maximum: 30 Years
Relaxation of Upper age limit
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 35years
Other Backward Classes: 33 years
Persons With Disabilities: 10 years
Ex-Servicemen: 35 years
Candidates from Kashmir Division: 35 years
Educational qualification: The candidate should be a graduate or equivalent. The same should be in any stream from a recognized university with a minimum requisite of 55% average mark.
Examination pattern
There will be one common written test for all 5 Associate Banks. Candidates should indicate 3 Banks in order of preferences.
Phase: I
Written Examination: Combined duration 3 Hrs and 250 marks.
Test Type: Objective
Subjects:
1. English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
2. General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
3. Data Analysis & Interpretation
4. Reasoning (High Level)
Duration: 2 hours, Marks: 200
Test Type: Descriptive
English Language (Comprehension, short precis, letter writing & essay)
Duration: 1 hour, Marks: 50
Phase II: Group Discussion & Interview
Max Marks: 50 (GD-20, Interview-30)
The aggregate marks of objective and descriptive test will be arranged in descending order and the candidate who have qualified in both the written tests will be called for group discussion and interview depending upon the vacancies in each category, subject to maximum of 3 times of the vacancies.
Phase III: Final Selection
The marks of group discussion & interview will be put together and the candidates who secure minimum 40% marks (minimum 35% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PWD) in group discussion and interview will be considered for final selection. The candidates will have to qualify in Phase I and Phase II separately. Marks obtained by the candidates in Written Test out of 250 marks (maximum) are normalized to 75 and marks obtained in GD/ Interview out of 50 are normalized to 25, final merit list is arrived at after totaling the normalized marks as above with an aggregate of 100. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category. Phase I & Phase II marks after normalization will be aggregated and arranged in descending order (category wise) for candidates who have qualified in both the phases separately & depending on the vacancies, selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category. Results of the candidates who have qualified for Phase II and thereafter the list of candidates finally selected will be available on the Banks’ website in addition to publication in Employment News / Rozgar Samachar.
SBI Associates Clerk Exam
Eligibility criteria
Nationality: Indian
Age: Minimum 18 Years; Maximum 28 Years
Relaxation of Upper age limit
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years
- Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PWD-SC/ST: 15 years
- PWD-OBC: 13 years
Educational qualification
Passed 12th Class with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD)
or
Graduate with minimum 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/PWD)
or
A Diploma course passed after 10th standard from a recognized institute, with a minimum of two years study. It should be a full time course (not through correspondence) with a minimum of 60% marks.
Examination pattern
The syllabus is completely on the syllabus of class 10+2. It will be from different boards like State, ISE and CBSE. The candidates must be acquainted with the syllabus of class 10+1 and 10+2.
Final Selection will be done on the basis of performance in the written test and interview.
The written test will be of Objective type questions of
- General Awareness
- General English
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning Ability
- Marketing Aptitude / Computer Knowledge
There will be negative marking for wrong answer in Objective test. 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates are also required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate i.e. 40% of overall marks (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).
