BANGALORE: The members of Malleswaram disc and football club write to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, requesting the minister to save playgrounds in Malleswaram.
In the letter, they have suggested solutions for widening the road, without cutting trees. The members have opined that the road can now be widened by 30 ft instead of the earlier 15 ft.They lamented that the area had only one playground in 18th cross for thousands of students. The students of three educational institutions: Maharani Lakshmi Ammani College, Kendriya Vidyalaya and the Govt PU College and School use this ground. The ground at Malleswaram Circle is currently being used for public function and other activities. Also, there are about 300 trees that will be axed for this project which are not replaceable. The ground has over 50 trees, which are 80 years old which might be axed.

What's your reaction?
