The Indian tennis player is now ranked 45th in the WTA singles rankings. She is ranked 28th in doubles.
New Delhi: Sania Mirza has moved one place up to 45th in the latest WTA rankings even though she lost in the quarter-final of the $175,000 Tier III Sony Ericsson Bangalore WTA tournament.
She had lost to unseeded Russian Yaroslava Shvedova who went on to win the tournament.
However, Sania has slipped two places in the doubles rankings and is now 28th in the rankings.
Shikha Uberoi is the second highest ranked Indian at 232nd spot after losing five rungs.
Russian Maria Sharapova is the top ranked player in singles rankings.
