HYDERABAD: The building housing the Road Transport Authority office was renamed as Dr BR Ambedkar Bhavan on Saturday on the occasion of the national leader's birth anniversary.Deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, who unveiled the name plate and garlanded the statue, said that though SCs and STs had progressed, discriminations against them was still prevalent in society. Though party president Sonia Gandhi had made him deputy chief minister, he faced many insults.PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, marketing minister Mukesh Goud, transport commissioner Hiralal Samriya and others took part in the programme.At the Tank Bund chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy garlanded the statue of Ambedkar and paid tributes to the leader on his 122nd birth anniversary. Describing Ambedkar as a role model, Reddy said he had striven for a society devoid of discrimination.
