HYDERABAD: The Godavari Drinking Water Supply project got a shot in the arm, with the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department releasing around Rs 75 crore for works.Out of this, Rs 62.50 crore has been released under a special package and another Rs 12.50 crore for sewerage master plan.Due to a funds crunch, the Godavari drinking water scheme had hit a road block since last several months as works got stalled, including land acquisition in three districts- Rangareddy, Medak and Karimnagar. The state government has now accorded administrative sanction for Rs 75 crore of budget estimate for 2011-12, as loans to the Water Board.Speaking to Express, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board officials said the amount sanctioned would be utilised for taking up works which are in different stages of progress.
