Connecticut: A 25-year-old Indian origin man working as a store clerk in the United States was killed during a violent robbery on Tuesday.
Arun Kumar, who had been working in a corner convenience store for three years supporting himself and his family back home, had enrolled himself in an online masters degree programme.
The gruesome killing has left not just the Indian community but also the other people living in the neighbuorhood outraged.
"I just found out, and it breaks my heart. For money, money, money. Take the money and go away! You know? That's it. Why take a life? His family. Now he's got a family all torn up, all broken down," says Carlos Rolon.
Those who knew the victim claim that he was too smart to fight back.
"They took whatever they want, but why did they kill the guy? They took the whole register. I don't care about that, I care about the life," says Usman Malik, the owner of the store where Kumar worked.
Even the customers who only knew him casually are outraged and puzzled over what happened.
Wilberto Ramos, one of the customers says he was one of the good person.
"He was nice to everybody. He talked to everybody," says Ramos.
