THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF Government has declared war on the political values of the state, according to CPI state secretary C K Chandrappan. If Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had a sliver of respect for the state’s democratic sentiments, he should drop Forest Minister K B Ganesh Kumar and Government Chief Whip P C George from their respective positions, Chandrappan said.On the one hand, Ganesh Kumar is abusing Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan through using intemperate language, while on the other hand George is throwing casteist insults at A K Balan MLA. Such leaders do not even spare a thought to the modesty and honour of a lady watch and ward, he said. The UDF leadership, while condemning their acts, had nevertheless allowed them a free rein, he said. Chandrappan said that the CPI would launch strong agitations against these antidemocratic actions.
