BELLARY:  Tourism Minister G Janardhan Reddy has finally bent before the law. Reddy, who had earlier skipped court hearings in different cases, appeared on Monday before a second additional junior civil judge court, in connection with a stone throwing incident and ransacking the house of a BJP activist in April 2007.
On Monday, Reddy along with Health Minister B Sreeramulu, Raichur MP Sannafakirappa, Kampli MLA T H Sureshbabu, Rayadurg MLA Ramachandra Reddy, Ramalingappa, leaders Mahipal, Hanumanthappa and Doddfakkirappa appeared before the court.Earlier, the court had issued 28 warrants against these nine people, but they had failed to appear.

On Monday, all the nine accused appeared before the court and sought cancellation of warrants issued against them. After the hearing, Reddy said that the media was bent upon portraying them negatively.

Reddy's advocate Siddareddy said when Sreeramulu, Reddy and others were protesting in front of Ismail's house in 2007, police had registered a suomotu case against them. "The government had considered this case for withdrawal, but the Magistrate Court rejected our demand."

In revenge, a group of around 30 persons had ransacked the house of Ismail on April 2, 2007. Police had booked a case against 32 persons, including the Bellary ministers.
